Souths remain a mystery on the back of a 10-point loss to the Sharks last week.

A road trip can often do wonders for a club looking to build momentum, but the visit to Perth clearly proved too much for Jason Demetriou’s men to handle.

Another trip across the country awaits, this time to Cairns to face a Dragons outfit that has lost 11 consecutive inter-state games.

To their credit, the Saints put up a real fight thanks to Mikaele Ravalawa in last week’s loss to the Eels, but still ranked bottom four in scoring, the Dragons have plenty of improving left to do on attack.

Fortunately, the Dragons have less to worry about this week with Jai Arrow and Tom Burgess both missing for Souths – combined with a confidence-boosting upset over this same Bunnies side only six weeks ago.

Whether that previous result motivates the Rabbits remains to be seen, but even with Latrell Mitchell and Alex Johnston both in good form, I do wonder if this long and arduous road trip is starting to get the better of the Bunnies.

After an honourable loss last week, the Dragons might give Souths more than they bargained for yet again.
