Preview:

The Panthers and Titans get things started in round 17 at the foot of the mountains on Friday night. Penrith has found the winning formula in recent games, winning five on the trot after losing five in a row before that. They are now right in the thick of the finals race in 10th spot and will see this home game against the Titans as very winnable.

Last time out for the Titans, they suffered an 18-point loss to Manly as they were simply blown away in the first half. They have beaten the Panthers this season in round 5 by six points though, so they can gain some confidence from their early season heroics.

In team news, Nathan Cleary is named as a reserve despite missing Origin with an ankle injury. New South Wales half James Maloney has been named to back up less than 48 hours after the decider. The Titans have included Tyrone Peachey and Dale Copley into their side and have no Origin representatives.

Both these teams are in the bottom five for points scored, with Penrith running in an equal league lowest 34 tries this season, with the Titans ranking 12th with 45 tries. On a cold, greasy night in Sydney, expect a low scoring match, but The Wolf can’t go past Penrith making it six in the row as they are one of the hottest teams in the comp at the moment.
