Preview:

Two losses on the trot has seen the Panthers drop out of the top eight, while two wins in succession has put Cronulla back into the top eight – that’s how close the NRL ladder is at the moment.

An unexpected 16-8 loss to the Dogs was the Panthers’ most disappointing for some time as they failed to convert territory into points, managing just a single try against the 15th placed Dogs.

Cronulla produced its best performance of the season in a 39-24 win against Souths, completing at 83 per cent and forcing 14 Bunnies errors.

Viliame Kikau is back for Penrith, while Jarome Luai and Wayde Egan both miss through injury. Debutant Spencer Leniu is named on the interchange. Matt Moylan is out with concussion, shifting Josh Dugan to full back, with Sosaia Feki back on the wing for the Sharks.

Cronulla has owned this head-to-head match up in recent times, winning five in a row, including last season’s semi-final by a point. Penrith look to be back to their early season form and The Wolf thinks the Sharks are coming good at just the right time.
