Preview:

Queensland rivals meet to start round 21 when the Cowboys host the Broncos for the final time at 1300SMILES Stadium, with their new Townsville stadium nearing completion. Both teams are coming off last start losses, with the Cows trounced 28-4 by the Tigers and the Broncos fairing worse, losing 40-4 to the Storm.

There aren’t wholesale changes for either side ahead of this one, with Gideon Gela-Mosby in replacing Murray Taulagi for the Cows. Brisbane second rower Matt Gillett hasn’t been named, but Tevita Pangai Jnr is back from suspension and Joe Ofahengaue is promoted to the run on side.

Brisbane won the round two encounter between these clubs 29-10 after racing out of the blocks to lead 24-0 after 51 minutes. Speedster James Roberts scored two tries on that night, but he wont’ be a problem for the Cows after his move to the Bunnies mid-season.

The Cowboys have won four of their past five against the Broncos at home, including the round 22 clash last season by a 34-30 scoreline. This one could be just as high scoring and with both sides having plenty to play for, The Wolf is backing the Cowboys to snare an upset win behind a big game from Michael Morgan.
