Preview:

Canterbury’s late season surge came to an end in Townsville last round, when they were undone by the Cowboys 15-8. The Dogs had kept games close all throughout their late season winning streak and last week was no different, as they battled to the wire before going down.

They face a Broncos side that stamped its finals ticket with a 17-16 golden point win against Parramatta. Jake Turpin is back from suspension and named at halfback, while Origin forward Joe Ofahengaue is on the reserves list in a largely settled Brisbane team.

The Dogs have lost two backs to injury, with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Kerrod Holland missing. Will Hopoate shifts to full back, while Morgan Harper will make his NRL debut.

Brisbane prevailed 28-6 just a few weeks ago when the two sides met at Suncorp Stadium, with centre Kotoni Staggs scoring two tries on that night. The Broncs have won three of four against the Dogs, but Canterbury has won its past four games against the Broncos at home.

The Wolf sniffs an upset here and with Brisbane doing themselves no benefit winning this game, they might have their eyes on finals and give the Dogs a reason to go into the off-season with plenty to look forward to in 2020.
