The 9-11 SE Melbourne Phoenix have slipped to seventh with only four wins from their last 13 games. But a 90-82 away win over the Hawks last Sunday was a timely boost for the newcomers’ confidence.
The Wildcats have comfortably accounted for the Phoenix twice already this season. The newcomers went down 110-79 in Perth early in the season, while the Wildcats got up 108-98 in Melbourne last month.
Bryce Cotton has been in wonderful form for the Wildcats; the Phoenix need similar from their talisman Mitch Creek. But Perth – 6-3 at home this season, while SEM are 3-6 away – are hard to back against here.
