It’s going to be an intriguing match when the Swans host Port Adelaide in Sydney on Saturday night, as both teams look to snap their losing streaks.
Sydney were exposed once again last week in a big loss to Melbourne, where they struggled to keep up with the Demons in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Port Adelaide’s second-straight defeat to the Crows left plenty of questions around their consistency after an impressive season-opener.
Buddy Franklin’s form is also a concern for the Swans, as some are starting to wonder whether he is still the right fit in the forward line. On the other side of the coin, Port’s defence looked shaky at times, particularly in the final term when they let Izak Rankine loose.
Although Port Adelaide have won the last six encounters against the Swans, Sydney’s impressive record of bouncing back after a loss and their dominant record at the SCG could give them the edge. It will all come down to how John Longmire can get his forward line to fire against a Port defence that has shown some vulnerabilities.
