The Tigers have come back from the bye on fire with three straight wins and they have a fourth in their sights when they host the Power at the MCG on Saturday afternoon. The team from Punt Road find themselves just a game outside the top four, but play three of the current top four in the run home, so will want to secure the four points against an unpredictable Port side.
The Power gave up the first seven goals to the Lions in round 17 and were never a chance of winning, losing as one goal favourites to drop to 8-8 on the season and 9th on the ladder. They have gone win-loss in their past eight games, evidence of their inconsistency. Richmond had all the answers against GWS last weekend and led for nearly the entire game, winning by 27 points.
In round 4, Richmond escaped Adelaide with a seven-point win in a close contest. Tom Lynch’s six goals were the difference maker in a game where the Tigers booted 15 goals in total. Richmond is winning the handicap more often than not this season at 9-7, while Port have been poor at 6-10. The Power won their only match at the MCG this season by 26 points against Melbourne in round 1. The Wolf sees Richmond has hit its straps in the past three weeks, winning and covering each of those games. They should make it four in a row against a shaky Port team.
