Yet again the clash between 1^st and 2^nd will be played in front of nobody.

There’s no doubting that Melbourne and Western Bulldogs fans have been enjoying the season so far, but they have every right to feel disappointed that the times we are in has denied them a chance to see these two play in the grandstands.

It wasn’t that long ago, Round 11 in fact when the Dees and Dogs last met.

On that night Melbourne got it done over the team formerly known as Footscray, a result that had people believing that the red and blue was the real deal.

While they are still top of the ladder, the Dees have had a somewhat poor run of late, including last week’s draw against 17^th placed Hawthorn.

The Western Bulldogs were happy to get the four points over the spirited Suns last week and at this time of the season, you just chalk up the Ws.

I still have faith the Dees are not going to limp into the finals, plenty of good teams have had a month or so of so-so results over the years.

If the Bulldogs are slow to start, the Dees and their dynamic midfield will be too much for them.
