A pick’em type game awaits on Saturday with the Giants and Dockers proving two of the more difficult teams to get a read on.
The wide-open nature of the season suddenly has GWS right in the thick of the top eight battle, and if they manage anywhere close to the 30 scoring shots they had in last week’s win over North, they’ll be right in the mix.
Likewise, the Dockers are also on the outside of the eight looking in.
After putting together four straight wins, Freo was slow out of the gates last week in a 15-point loss to Richmond, struggling to win the stoppages and turning the ball over at crucial times in the process.
On paper, these two sides do boast some similarities, which probably helps explain the betting market.
The Giants and Dockers have both been two of the better sides at disposing of the ball by hand, but where Freo holds the advantage is in tackles, conversion percentage, and perhaps most importantly, turnovers.
Away from home, the Giants will be a tough out, but Freo has proven more than capable on the road over the last few weeks, knocking off the Swans and Dees during their recent winning streak.
If they can make the most of their opportunities early – something they failed to do last week – the Dockers should bounce back.
