The resurgent Hawks will hope to make it three on the bounce when they play Geelong on Sunday afternoon at the MCG. A 31-point win against the Dockers last round, their 7th win of the year has the Hawks still two games outside the eight, so every win is crucial for them in the run home. Geelong got past a plucky St Kilda side by 27 points by the Bay, but will be looking for an upturn in form against a stronger opponent.
Matches between these two have been close in recent times, with the starting line of -20.5 on the Cats one of the biggest in recent times. In their round 5 match, the Cats prevailed by 23 points covering the two goal start. Geelong has slipped against the spread in recent times, failing to cover in three of their past four matches, but they are still in the black for 2019 at 9-7. Hawthorn has covered its last two handicap, but is still a poor 6-10 this season, losing a number of matches by close margins.
Both of these sides will rip in and provide a great contest on Sunday afternoon.
