Two sides staking their claim for the title of ‘biggest disappointments’ meet on Saturday with their seasons virtually on the line.

Sitting 15th and eight points adrift from the top eight, the Dockers basically have to win out and hope things go their way if they plan on returning to finals this year.

The Swans, meanwhile, have come alive in recent weeks with a cheap win over West Coast and a hard-fought victory over the Dogs last week, leaving them in striking distance of a late season turnaround.

Finding confidence in either team right now is incredibly difficult, the Swans ranked as one of the worst teams around the stoppages, and the Dockers struggling to find points on a consistent basis.

On the personnel front, Fremantle gun midfielder Caleb Serong is back after serving a one-game suspension, but there’s still concern for Sean Darcy after missing last week’s blowout loss to the Pies with an ankle injury.

Looking back, the Dockers prevailed by double digits when these two sides met at the SCG back in Round 9, Freo dominating the inside 50 count 61-44 and, not surprisingly, kicking 16 goals in the process.

A repeat of that effort would be tough for the Swans to match, but given their inconsistencies, it’s hard to bank on the Dockers.

Likewise, the Swans have managed a 3-5 mark away from home this year, while they’ve also averaged 13 goals to opponents on the road.

Since this is basically a ‘line in the sand’ type game for both clubs, a high-scoring game could be on the cards.
