Collingwood is back at Marvel Stadium for a second straight week as it hosts North Melbourne on Saturday night. The black and white’s were in an arm wrestle against the Dogs last round before holding on to win by 9 points, despite the Dogs having 23 scoring shots to 17. Ben Reid and Mason Cox kicked five goals between them as their tall forward line proved hard to handle for the undersized Bullies. North suffered its first loss under Rhyce Shaw in a 23 point loss to GWS in round 13, but has won three of its past four games against the Dogs, Tigers and Suns.
The Pies have won 9 of their past 10 games and are in the top 3 in the league for points scored, goals scored, hitouts and uncontested possession. The Roos are a better than average scoring side and enjoy Marvel Stadium, where they have won two games in a row. It has also been a happy hunting ground for the Pies, who are 7-1 at the indoor stadium since the start of the 2017 season.
Small forward Jamie Elliott might finally return to the side after a rollercoaster ride with injuries, with defender Jeremy Howe and Taylor Adams ruled out. The Pies have dominated this match up in recent times, winning four of five, including last season’s only meeting in round 18 by 66 points. The Wolf can’t see that sort of blowout this time around and the Pies have been winning games, but not blowing teams away. A rested North side will be no pushover.
