Preview:

A potential finals preview kicks off round 23 action when Collingwood and Essendon meet at the MCG. The Pies could find themselves in the top four at season’s end with a win on Friday night and other results falling their way. The Dons are finals certainties, but could drop to eighth with a loss, and are out of contention for a home final.

Collingwood went to Adelaide and silenced the 50,000 strong home crowd to record a thumping win against the Crows as underdogs. The 66-point triumph was one of the Woods’ best in recent times, holding the Crows to just six goals.

The Bombers had their backs against the wall before their match in Perth against the Dockers and thanks to a strong start, were too good for Freo all night, winning by 32 points.

When they met on ANZAC Day, the Pies took the chocolates by four points in a nail biter. Essendon are 4-3 at the ‘G this season, while the Pies are 8-5, but just 5-8 against the spread. The Pies have won the past three in this matchup and with a top four spot on the line, The Wolf thinks they’ll make it four on the trot and stake a claim for top four honours.
