Yet again the Blues and Tigers meet on Thursday night and as always, there’s much hype about Carlton’s prospects.

An improved showing in the pre-season, a fit and firing Cripps, new coach, new era – we’ve seen this movie before.

Is this time different though?

I’m not sure.

Richmond did miss out on finals football after a dominant run of premierships, however, most pundits (including yours truly) expect it to be a mere glitch and for the Tigers to resume normal programming.

The Tigers streak against Carlton is currently at 11, with the last six being decided by 1-39 points.

Much like all the other Thursday night, Round 1 openers, expect the Tigers to get a buffer early on, Carlton to fight back and then the Tigers to get on with taking the four premiership points.
