The top eight picture could be in for a shake-up on Saturday when the Lions battle the Saints at the Gabba.
Plenty had Brisbane penciled in as the second-best side behind Melbourne a few weeks ago, but a couple of recent losses to Hawthorn and Fremantle has cast some doubt over Chris Fagan’s side.
Injuries to key positions haven’t helped, but the Lions have also struggled around the clearances and given up an unusual amount of goals off stoppages.
The Saints, on the other hand, are shooting for four on the trot after making short work of North Melbourne a fortnight ago.
Brett Ratten’s side kicked off their winning streak with an impressive win over Geelong, their third win over a side currently ranked in the top eight.
Beating Brisbane at home is always tough, but it’s even harder to get a feel for the Lions right now – especially after giving up 10 goals in the second half last week to Fremantle.
You could argue the same for the Saints though, a team that has started slow at times and also struggled in front of the goals.
Overall, this is a game that is very tough to pick, but with a big crowd expected and the Saints well-rested, the Over is probably the safest play.
