The landscape of the top four could be changed for good on Saturday afternoon at the ‘G.

Undefeated Melbourne is looking to make it 16 in a row against the Dockers, a team that has fallen off in recent weeks with back-to-back losses to the Suns and Collingwood.

Last week’s home loss had to be of concern for coach Justin Longmuir as his side not only failed to find points, but also allowed Collingwood to kick clear and win comfortably.

A defensive performance like the one we saw against Geelong a few weeks ago could make this a challenge for the Dees, but after allowing 60 inside 50s to Collingwood last week, it’s hard to feel confident in the Dockers right now.

Melbourne has averaged nearly four more scoring shots a game than Freo, while they’ve also been a much better team around the clearances and inside 50.

Simon Goodwin’s side did have a few nervy moments against North Melbourne last week, but with a chance to make a genuine statement against a top four side, it’s hard to back against the Dees here.
