The Dockers have had a torrid time of it recently, losing four on the trot and sliding down to 13th on the table. They host the 14th placed Swans with both sides in must-win mode if they hope to make a late charge towards September.

Freo were humbled by the Hawks in Tasmania last weekend, spotting Hawthorn a five goal start until midway through the second quarter and eventually losing by 31 points. Sydney suffered an unexpected loss at the hands of Carlton by seven points which has thwarted some of the momentum they have gathered in the past six weeks.

These two sides have played once every season since 2016, with the Swans undefeated against Freo in that time. The Swans won their only visit to Optus Stadium, but have never played the Dockers at the ground. Fremantle has been average at home in 2019 at 5-4, beating the handicap on just four of those occasions. Sydney is 9-7 against the spread and 4-3 on the road. It’s hard for The Wolf to back the Dockers during a form slump, but with both of these sides losing the Blues in recent times, it’s the safer bet to side with the home side to stop the rot and get their season back on track.
