Brisbane keep on keeping on, winning their fourth game on the trot and second in as many week as a road underdog to ascend to third spot on the ladder. They return to the Gabba as handsome favourites to knock off the Roos, who have been in decent form in recent times. The Lions got a seven goal jump on the Power and never looked back to win their first game at the Adelaide Oval last round by eight goals.
A flat third quarter was North’s undoing against the Dons as they lost by five points after holding the head in the dying stages. At 7-9, the Roos are now two games outside the top eight and will need to upset the odds if they are to feature in the finals this season.
The Lions have been a force at home this season winning 6 of 7 games and covering the handicap in five of those games. Overall, Brisbane has been money on the line at 11-5, with the Roos a respectable 9-7. North has won four of its past five against Brisbane, but lost their round 2 clash at Marvel Stadium by 20 points. The Lions will be riding high after wins against the Giants and Power and while North will provide stiff competition, Brisbane is the real deal and The Wolf is backing them to win another at their home fortress in a high-scoring affair.
