Collingwood’s injury list is the longest of any squad in the competition and they are now paying the price for it. The Pies have slipped outside the top four after their latest loss to the Tigers and are in danger of missing out on a double chance that looked all but theirs at the beginning of the season.
The Pies have lost four of their past five games, but could return to the winner’s list when they play the Suns at the MCG on Sunday.
Gold Coast has lost 14 on the trot, but were unlucky not to beat the Bombers last time out, losing by 10 points despite holding a 26-point lead midway through the third term.
Their record at the MCG is rather miserable at 3-10 all-time, and they have beaten Collingwood only twice in eight attempts, but now isn’t the time to be backing Collingwood as more than five goal favourites against anyone. The Wolf is going to take the Suns at the handicap, which has been a bit hit or miss recently, but is 9-9 this season.
