The Blues have turned their season around and given fans reason to hope for 2020 after a series of thrilling wins in recent weeks. Last round’s 27-point win against the Crows was one of their best of the season as they picked up their sixth victory of 2019.
Their task is much tougher this Sunday when they host the Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The second placed Premiers from a season ago are humming along nicely and will be eager to sew up a top two finish. They are just 0.3 per cent ahead of Brisbane on the ladder and surely won’t be taking the Blues lightly.
The last three games between the Blues and Eagles in Melbourne have been close, with West Coast winning by 10 points and seven points and Carlton prevailing in 2014 by three points.
The Blues have been money against the spread this season, covering 13 times out of a possible 18. The Eagles aren’t too shabby either at 10-8 and 5-3 away from Perth. The Wolf is going to keep backing the Blues in at the line, as they’ve proved too good to pass up and another close one is on the cards when these two meet on Sunday.
