The suddenly resurgent Blues are hunting their fourth win in five games when they host Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday. A 24-point win against the Suns was Carlton’s second on the trot as they withstood a late rally to secure their fifth win of the season.
Adelaide clings onto a spot in the top eight despite a 21-point loss to Essendon last Friday night. The Bombers staged a 51-point turnaround to shock the Crows, who conceded 10 goals and kicking just three in the second half last round.
A 5-12 record for the Blues hasn’t been pretty, but they have been one of the best performed sides against the handicap at 12-5. At the MCG they are 3-1 in covering the line. It is Adelaide’s first visit to the ‘G this season, but since 2016 they haven’t been too bad at the home of footy, with a 5-1-4 record.
The Crows have the wood on Carlton recently, winning their past five matches. Adelaide thumped the Bluebaggers by 104 points in their most recent meeting in round 23 last season and while The Wolf knows this one will be a lot closer, Adelaide have too much to play for to lose to a bottom four side at this time of the season.
