New Zealand Warriors vs Manly Sea Eagles Preview
The New Zealand Warriors struggled in Round 4 with the 32-12 loss to the Roosters a fair reflection of the gap between the two sides. While they started well enough, their sub-par middle couldn’t keep the Chooks from getting up the field and finding points. As for the Sea Eagles, well, they are historically bad at 0-4 with the worst defence in the NRL.
It’s not about to get any easier for Des Hasler and the Sea Eagles either. Tom Trbojevic is still unavailable with Dylan Walker retaining his spot at the back. Positively, Morgan Harper comes into the side for Moses Suli. It’s not all good news for the Warriors either. Addin Fonua-Blake won’t play his former side, and Bunty Afoa is suspended. Leeson Ah Mau and Tohu Harris start at prop with Kane Evans and Tom Ale coming onto the bench.
Manly’s defence may be the worst in the NRL, but the Kiwi clubs attack hasn’t set the world on fire. The only time the Warriors have looked consistently dangerous in attack came against a battered Raiders side playing without a bench. Neither side look primed to pile up points. If anything, it’s setting up for the Sea Eagles to cause an upset given the Warriors injury issues through the middle. Anticipating the Manly pack to get up the field, but for their attack to stall once it gets into good ball, this one looks like a bludger.
