Preview:
Manly and Wests are both coming off last start losses and will be keen to avoid back-to-back defeats when they meet at Lottoland on Thursday night.
The Sea Eagles failed to fire for much of their match against the Warriors in Auckland, going behind 18-0 before a late rally fell short as they lost by eight points. Wests started well against the Bulldogs, but injuries and a mid-game lapse cost them dearly, as they lost by two points.
There are two big injury blows for the Tigers, who will be without Moses Mbye and Robbie Farrah. Jacob Liddle will play hooker, with Tommy Talau the debutant at centre. There are two changes for Manly as well, with Brad Parker and Curtis Sironen both out through injury.
Despite failing to cover an 8-point start last time out, Manly remain the best team against the spread, covering 14 times from 20 games. Their home form is solid, covering seven times in 10 games. The Tigers aren’t too shabby themselves and boast a 6-4 record on the road, ranking third in the NRL.
The Wolf thinks it will be a big challenge for the Tigers to come away with the two points from the northern beaches on Thursday. Two of their best players will miss and Manly have been a steam train at home.
