Friday night’s blockbuster clash between the Brisbane Broncos and South Sydney Rabbitohs at Suncorp Stadium has lost a little shine due to the absence of star recruit Adam Reynolds, who would have been facing his former club first up.

Despite COVID-19 ripping through the team, the Broncos will still field a strong lineup as they look to right the wrongs of the past two seasons and challenge for a finals position once again.

Under new mentor Jason Demetriou, Souths will line up with a familiar 13 outside the suspended Latrell Mitchell and departed Reynolds.

Blake Taaffe will start at fullback while Lachlan Ilias handles the halfback duties.

The Broncos will hand a club debut to coach Kevin Walters’ son, Billy, who is partnering Albert Kelly in the halves.

Also making their Broncos debuts will be Ryan James and Tyrone Roberts, who will come off the interchange, and premiership winner Kurt Capewell, who starts in the back row.
