Preview:
The Dogs have climbed off the bottom of the ladder after back-to-back wins and they will be looking for their longest winning streak of the season when they travel to the Sunshine State to play the Broncos on Thursday night.
Dean Pay’s men prevailed in a 20-14 upset against the Knights in round 17 as 8-point underdogs, with a run of 20 straight points securing their win. Brisbane took a point from their match against the Warriors at Suncorp Stadium after the teams couldn’t be split after 90 minutes. The Broncos trailed 16-6 at half time and took the lead late in the second half, with an Issac Luke penalty in the 76th minute ensuring golden point would be played.
In team news, Corey Oates returns on the right wing with Jamayne Issako swapping to left wing and Xavier Coates dropping to the reserves. It is a reshuffled starting pack for the Dogs with Aiden Tolman and Sauaso Sue both out injured. Ofahiki Ogden will start and Danny Fualalo has joined the bench.
The Wolf thinks the Broncos are far too short in this one given their recent shortcomings. The Dogs will be full of confidence and have split their last six games against Brisbane. Neither side has performed well on the handicap in 2019, with the Broncos 6-1-9 and the Dogs 7-9. Take Canterbury and the points.
