The Wildcats – who will join the Kings on an 18-8 record if they win both of their Round 18 fixtures – have won four of their last five against the Kings. Sydney won the initial blockbuster on home court earlier this season (104-85), but Perth have picked up high-stakes victories at home (96-77) and away (98-85) since then.
After a December slump, the Kings went 5-1 in January. They had a big weekend in Round 17, smashing the Hawks on the road (102-79) and United at home (106-88). Casper Ware (26 pts) and Andrew Bogut (9 ast) helped spearhead the latter win. The Kings have conceded 88 points or less in their last seven games.
The Wildcats’ defence has also been impressive of late, averaging 79 points conceded in their last three. Expect a tight, low-scoring affair in what looms as a grand final preview.
