The Wildcats left it until the last possession of the game to clinch the win in their Grand Final rematch with Melbourne United in Round 1.
Finals MVP Terrico White showed that he’s the definition of clutch as he hit the go-ahead three with little time left on the clock.
It was a tough first game for the Wildcats, but one that will have them in good stead going forward. On the other hand, the Hawks were upset in their Round 1 clash with the Taipans.
All eyes were on Lamelo Ball and he didn’t disappoint with his 12/10/5/4/1 line, but it was former NBA veteran Aaron Brooks (23 points) who led the way off the bench for the Hawks.
They were eventually overrun by Lamar Patterson and the Bullets in what was a fairly disappointing Round 1 performance for the Hawks.
Unfortunately, the Wolf thinks it will be more of the same in Round 2 for the Hawks when they travel to Perth to take on the champs.
The Wildcats have NBL proven stars and will be far too good on their home deck for the inexperienced Hawks.
