Despite plenty happening off the field, the Dees responded to a Round 22 loss to Carlton in a big way last week with 27-point defeat over Hawthorn – a result that has ensured their top four spot with one game to play.

The Swans, meanwhile, have ‘dark horse’ written all over them after snagging a sixth consecutive win, albeit in controversial fashion, over the Crows in Adelaide.

Sydney pulled off a 22-point upset in last year’s Qualifying Final over the Dees, but Melbourne found some revenge back in Round 3 when they won quite comfortably at the ‘G.

To go as far as calling this a rivalry might be a stretch, but there should be plenty of feeling with Melbourne looking to maintain form, and the Swans perhaps playing for a home final.

In positive news, Bayley Fritsch looks likely to return from a foot injury, a real boost to the Dees’ forward line after struggling for goals in recent weeks.

Down the other end, Issac Heeney continues to deliver for the Swans, setting up what could be a surprisingly high-scoring game.

The last two encounters have both gone Over the Total, but with the Swans really finding form when it counts, the Winner/Total Points double could be the way to go.
