A fascinating game between a pair of top-eight hopefuls wraps up the round in Adelaide.

Gold Coast faces a very favourable run home with several games against teams outside finals contention, but this does shape as a bit of a litmus test for Stuart Dew’s men with a couple of key outs.

Unfortunately, the injury bug has swept through the club with Wil Powell suffering a horrific leg injury in last week’s win over the Crows.

Powell joins Connor Budarick on the sideline, spelling a potential disaster for the Suns down back.

Port, on the other hand, was dealt a blow with Zak Butters suffering a knee injury last week, but there is some good news on the Orazio Fantasia front with the small forward a chance at playing this week.

In terms of recent history, it’s fair to say the Power have the upper hand.

Port has won 13 straight over the Suns since losing their first-ever match back in 2011, most recently on the Gold Coast where they walked away comfortable 50-point winners.

The Suns can definitely make a contest of this if they can lock the ball inside their forward line, something they’ve done extremely well all year.

Still, a couple of key outs down back leave Gold Coast looking vulnerable, and with Port sensing an opportunity to leap-frog the Suns on the ladder, it’s hard to back against the home side.
