Adelaide’s season of peaks and troughs has hit yet another trough, with the Crows thrashed in the Showdown by 57 points last weekend. They have the perfect chance to bounce back in round 17 against the bottom placed Suns, who are also coming off a round 16 belting. The Tigers 92-point win was their biggest of the season and the Suns heftiest loss, with the yellow and black blowing Gold Coast away with a nine goals to one first quarter.

The Crows produced a 73-point win in round 5 against the Suns, with Eddie Betts booting six goals and Taylor Walker chipping in with three majors. The Suns have never beaten the Crows in 12 tries, while they are also winless at the Adelaide Oval, going 0-6 at the venue.

Gold Coast’s 3-12 record is the worst in the competition and there is no team in worse form. They had been performing well against the handicap during the early part of the season, but have regressed to be a modest 7-8 now. The Crows have the same record against the spread, but have been quite good on the road, with wins in Sydney, Darwin and Melbourne this season. They won’t fear at trip to Metricon Stadium, where they’ve won six times before and will make it a seventh on Saturday night, as The Wolf isn’t backing the Suns until they turn up.
