Preview:

The equation is simple for Geelong – win and they earn a top two finish and home finals. If they lose, they’ll need West Coast and Richmond to both lose to keep their top two spot. They play their final game of the season at home against the resurgent Blues on Saturday afternoon.

The Cats lost in a top two battle to the Lions in round 22, falling to a late Lincoln McCarthy goal that sunk them by a point. Carlton’s late season flourish continued with a 10-point win against St Kilda, their third win in five tries.

The Blues face somewhat of a bogey team in Geelong, having lost four of their past five matchups against Geelong. They don’t often play Geelong at the Cattery, but they did last season and lost by 28 points.

The Wolf has loved taking the Blues at the line this season, a bet that has won 14 times and lost just 7. The Cats are traditionally strong at home and have won seven from eight games at GMHBA Stadium in 2019, but covered in only five of those games.

The Blues haven’t lost by more than 28 points under David Teague and are giving away a near five-goal start in this one. With the exception of a big win against North a fortnight ago, Geelong hasn’t covered a line this big since their round 12 win against Richmond. Carlton and the points one last time this season.
