Fremantle missed out on the double chance by half a game but have earned the right to host this elimination final at Optus Stadium, a place where they have struggled to kick a big score.

In fact, their last 14 straight night games at the venue have gone under the total match points line.

This stat is not necessarily a bad one, and it has been their ability to keep possession of the football that has been a winning formula throughout the season so far.

The Dogs will need to capitalise once they get their hands on the ball but they are ranked 15th in ball movement in the last six weeks which is a concerning trend especially against this dockers outfit.

The Dockers had the sixth most marks of any team in 2022 when these sides last met in round 21, chipping the ball around and holding onto possession in a 17 point win.

The Dogs are just that at the contest, ranking 1st for clearance differential and 3rd for contested possessions differential  in the last six weeks.
