There is not a lot separating these two 80s rivals when they clash on Friday night at Marvel Stadium. Both teams are at 5-6 and coming off a bye, so will be energised and ready to go for the second half of the season.
The Bombers up and down past month continued in round 11 when they beat the Blues by 41 points in the wet. The Hawks surrendered a 5 goal head start to the Lions on their way to a 19 point loss in Brisbane a fortnight ago.
The Hawks are last in clearances by some margin, while their contested possession also ranks 18th, at an average of 137 per game. That goes some way to explaining why they’ve been so inconsistent in 2019. There is little to separate the sides in attacking stats though, making this one a tricky one to call. The Hawks have won four of the past five between the sides and offer The Wolf enough value as underdogs in this one.
