Preview:
The Lions will play their biggest game in more than a decade on Saturday when they host the Cats in a top of the table clash at the Gabba. The winner of this one will go a long way to guaranteeing themselves a top two finish and home finals, while the loser will have the Eagles hot on their heels for that second spot.
Brisbane continued its winning run, making it nine wins from its past 10 games with a 91-point thumping of the Suns in the QClash, the biggest win in the series’ 18-game history. Goal sneak Charlie Cameron had the ball on string, booting six goals, as the Lions registered their biggest score of the season (144 points).
Geelong bounced back from a shock loss to the Dockers a fortnight ago with a thumping of North Melbourne in Geelong. The Cats conceded just 14 points, the lowest total scored by North in its history, to record a 55-point win.
The home side has been money at the Gabba all season long at 9-1, with their only loss coming against the Pies early in the season. Against the spread, they are 6-4 at the Gabba, while overall they are an impressive 13-7.
Geelong has been patchy to say the least in the past month or so and are 2-3 against the spread outside of Victoria in 2019, but 3-2 straight up. It’s another tough one to call for The Wolf, but how can you go past Brissy at home? They’ve been electric. A win on Saturday and everyone will be talking them up to possibly play on the last Saturday in September.
