The Victory bagged a 1-0 home win over the Glory in late-November, courtesy of a Robbie Kruse goal. But then-struggling Perth subsequently went on a six-match winning streak, before playing out a scoreless draw against Melbourne City last weekend. The latter result was the third-placed Glory’s sixth clean sheet in seven games.
The Victory have slumped to eighth after defeats to the Mariners (3-2), Adelaide (1-0) and Sydney FC (3-0). A gutsy win over Kashima Antlers midweek boosted their spirits and put them into the AFC Champions League, but means their road trip to Perth will be their fourth game in 11 days.
The Victory have won six of their last nine against the Glory overall, including two of their last three in Perth. But the out-of-form, weary visitors are up against it here.
