Both teams appear out of the finals running, sitting in the bottom-three. Dual wooden spooners the Mariners are an improving outfit, but they have lost their last two to Western United away (3-0) and Brisbane at home (1-0).
After starting the season with three straight wins, Wanderers have managed just one victory and one draw in their last 10 games. They have also lost their last two – to Wellingont and Perth – to nil.
Western Sydney came from behind to beat Central Coast 2-1 in Week 1 this season, with Mitchell Duke scoring a goal in each half to negate Milan Duric’s opener. It was Wanderers’ fifth win form their last six games against the Mariners.
There’s not a lot from either team in the last couple of weeks to inspire punter confidence. But with both sides floundering in attack of later, the under shapes as a value option.
