Much is being made of the Rabbitohs pack, but if they can hold their own in the middle, this backline can be the best in the NRL. It was only in 2018 they played with the best left-edge attack in the competition. With Cameron Murray now on the edge and acting as the link between Mitchell and Cody Walker, defences are going to struggle to contain the trio. The Sharks play with a strong right-edge attack themselves. No team scored more tries down that side in 2019 despite Shaun Johnson missing a large chunk of the season to injury. There is no reason they can’t do the same in 2020 with Johnson’s partnership with Briton Nikora another year older.
The Rabbitohs come into the game with the hype, but the Sharks are famous for striking when teams least expect it. Anticipate a close one.
