This match certainly wouldn’t have looked out of place on Grand Final Day, and we’ll be treated to some world-class footy when the Panthers take on the Storm on Friday night.

The Panthers truly have been the benchmark of the NRL once again in 2023, and they fittingly won the minor Premiership.

From the beginning of their title defence, through Origin and to this week’s Preliminary Finals, there have been only a few minor blips, and I thought that their big win over the Warriors two weeks ago suggested that they are hungrier than ever.

Jarome Luai’s recent injury omission is on the verge of concluding, but they’ve still been a lot better than most other clubs during that time. They are fast, skilful, big and scary, and I think they’ll be too good again.

The Storm certainly haven’t been as tough an opponent as perhaps we’ve grown accustomed, but they’ve dealt with plenty of major injuries, the Origin period and more, and their arrival at yet another Preliminary Final speaks volumes of the club, the coaching staff and the players.

They were pushed all the way by the Roosters last week and were lucky to sneak over the line, and I am personally of the opinion that they have now played their final.

I’m backing the Panthers to make a big statement ahead of another Grand Final appearance, with a fan-favourite rewarded with yet another try.
