They were just awful last week and their plummet down the ladder is worrying, but the Eels are faced with a prime opportunity to level out and win when they meet the down and out Cowboys in Round 23.
The loss of Mitchell Moses for a few weeks the obvious point of difference, but the Eels also appear to have lost their hunger and confidence, and they are playing scrappy footy.
They were embarrassed by the Sea Eagles on Saturday night and have a lot of work to do in a short period of time if they are any hope of a deep finals run.
The Cowboys have also forgotten how to win, but they have been out of finals contention for some time now, and they clearly have one eye on Mad Monday.
Without a whole lot of confidence, I think we have to take the Eels to record something of a decent win here.
