The Titans found plenty of points in their game against the Dragons in round 21, but their defence was once again lacking. The 40-28 loss was their 16th of the season, leaving them firmly at the foot of the table. Parra accounted for Newcastle by six points in a close match, entrenching themselves in the top eight and just a game behind the fourth placed Souths.
Veteran fullback Michael Gordon is back for the Titans, who have no omissions from the 21-man squad this week. The Eels welcome back Kane Evans, while Tepai Moeroa has been dropped. Blake Ferguson is not listed.
This is the first time these sides meet this season, with Parra winning the previous two matchups. The last time they played Gold Coast at Robina was in 2017 when they lost 26-14. The Titans have in fact won three in a row against Parramatta at home.
None of the stats are pretty for the Titans, who have covered just twice at home this season. Something tells The Wolf they’ll pinch a win between now and the end of the season, and while that might not be on Friday night, they can hold their own and make this a real contest.
