Streaking Canberra host desperate Parramatta in another game that will create an important swing on the NRL ladder.

The 5-4 Raiders have won four straight to climb to ninth, while the 4-6 Eels dropped to 13th after losing two of their last three.

The Raiders winning run has been a nervy one. with all four victories coming by six points or less.

They followed up their 31-30 golden point win over the Dolphins in Wagga with a 34-30 defeat of the Bulldogs in Magic Round that should have been a lot more convincing.

The Green Machine got out to big leads in both before letting their opponents back into the contest. Corey Horsburgh was the star of the show in Brisbane, while Matt Timoko was a powerhouse in the centres and the Raiders’ revitalised attack looks even better with Xavier Savage returning on a wing.

Puzzlingly, Savage is named as 18th man with Albert Hopoate returning on the wing.

A late flurry flattered the Eels in a 26-24 loss to the Titans in the Magic Round closer.

A blinder from Dylan Brown was a silver lining in a disappointing overall showing for a 7.5-point favourite that was badly in need of the two points.

Compounding the result, Mitchell Moses is out with concussion and replaced in the halves by Jake Arthur.

The Raiders have won just one of their last six against the Eels, going down 28-20 at home during the 2022 regular season before getting overrun 40-4 at the semi-final stage.

Their wonderful golden point win over Penrith aside, the Eels have rarely stepped up when the heat is on in 2023.

The fast-starting Raiders will put them under pressure early and given the blue-and-golds’ only away win was against the Tigers at Accor Stadium, it’s hard to see them escaping the capital with two points.
