Preview:

The Sixers have landed a major signing with of the World’s leading batsmen, Aussie star Steve Smith signing on with them for BBL 09.

The Sixers will also have a few Englishmen in the change rooms with bowling all-rounder Tom Curran and James Vince signing on.

The Scorchers have signed two quality internationals in England’s Chris Jordan (a noted T20 bowler and strong lower order hitter) and Liam Livingstone. Livingstone is an all-rounder with strong English domestic form, snaring 14 wickets and 273 runs in England’s premier T20 league, Vitality Blast.

Their depth will be tested after the departure of gun Shaun Marsh and the sidelining of Andrew Tye for most of this season (surgery on right elbow). The bad news keeps coming for the Scorchers with fellow quick Jason Behrendorff also facing time out from BBL 09 with a back injury.
