Melbourne can do the football world and the West Coast Eagles for that matter a favour and boot Adam Simpsons boys out of the top eight this Monday night.

No one can argue that West Coast is doing anything more than making up the numbers in the seventh spot on the ladder right now.

The Eagles were truly horrible last week against Collingwood in Shannon Hurn’s 300th milestone game.

It was the same awful performance we saw from the Eagles against Geelong and Sydney this season and they were lucky to have been playing the Magpies, any other team above them in the eight would have won by 100+ points, especially when you factor in that the Pies kicked eight unanswered goals to start the game.

Despite the chaos of flying to the Gold Coast and back only to have the game moved to Marvel the next day, the Dees found some good form by giving the Suns a good old 98-point belting.

Everything went right for the Dees and while the percentage booster won’t help given the drawn match against the Hawks, it was a much-needed tune-up before the finals.

The game being played at Optus Stadium perhaps gives the Eagles a chance here, but I just don’t rate these pretenders.

Let’s take Melbourne 1-39 points and the over factoring in that Seven of West Coast’s last nine matches at Optus Stadium have gone OVER the total match points line.

The $4 on offer would be an excellent way to finish off the round.
