West Coast Eagles vs Melbourne Demons Preview

Prepare to witness history in Perth as not only will there be no crowd at Optus Stadium but a free-kick will be awarded to the opposition.

If there’s one thing to look out for in this game is not the head to head matchups in the midfield, it’s the free kick count at the end of it.

Since it’s opening in 2018 no venue has done home-cooking better than Optus Stadium.

With the reputation of being the “boo factory,” the one-eyed Eagles crowd being absent will be a social experiment on the free-kick count.

As for the match itself, West Coast goes in heavy favourites as they should and gaining Tim Kelly from Geelong over the off-season will add some heavy ammunition into an already strong midfield.

Melbourne had an absolute Barry Crocker of a season last year, despite all the hype and many think it’s just a bump on the journey to success.

Beating West Coast in Perth would be an outstanding way for the Dees to make a statement that they are back in business in 2020 but I just can’t see it happening given the Eagles record at home.

West Coast to get the job done.
