Sydney Swans vs Hawthorn Hawks Preview
One of the benefits of the floating fixture is that it guarantees a blockbuster game every Frida…
Wait a minute!
Sydney v Hawthorn?!?!
Sure, if this was the early-mid 2010s, this would be a must-watch game, but it seems not even flexible and agile schedule can prevent us from a dud match-up this Friday night.
At least the Swans have been a surprise packet this season, sitting comfortably in the top eight.
Hawthorn on the other hand sits 17th on the ladder, having only won two games, and settling into rebuild town – even if some of the brown and gold faithful don’t want to admit it.
What is keeping me interested in this game is, of course, Lance “Buddy” Franklin playing against his old side.
Perhaps the fact he’s yet to win a premiership in red and white makes it less painful for Hawthorn fans, in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if some Hawks supporters are watching this game for Buddy.
Buddy is edging ever so close to 1000 career goals, and another big bag from Buddy would really be something to spice this game up.
We’re going for a same game multi and backing Buddy to kick 4+ sausage rolls as well as the over.
Let’s hope it’s a more entertaining contest than I assume it’s going to be.
