Essendon broke string of three straight losses by beating Hawthorn on the weekend but they still find themselves in 16th spot through eight rounds.
The Bombers had failed to cover the line in eight consecutive games heading into the clash but those that stuck with them were rewarded.
Commentators and pundits reacted like the Bombers had won the flag after the win but the fact of the matter is that they beat a team that are 3-5.
They overcame adversity with some late outs and I don’t want to take away from the win but let’s not overreact here.
