Richmond Tigers vs Brisbane Lions Preview
The Brisbane Lions (proudly sponsored by Neds) make the trip to the MCG to face Richmond this Friday night,
Coming off a bad loss to St Kilda at Metricon last Saturday night which lead to an ACL injury to Eric Hipwood along with the stress fracture to Marcus Adams right foot – the Lions need to make the most of a vulnerable Tigers outfit.
The MCG has not been kind to the Lions, having lost nine straight matches at the ground since 2014.
If the Lions are to win the big one on the last Saturday in September, getting used to winning at the G would be a good start.
However, my tip for this game isn’t one about the result of the match.
Friday night sees Jack Riewoldt play his 300th game for Richmond.
A three-time Premiership Player, three-time Coleman Medalist, two-time Richmond best and fairest, one-time lead singer of the Killers who reached the 700 goal milestone just last week amongst many others – Jack Riewoldt is not just a legend of the Tigers but the game itself.
A player who gives his all, plays with heart and rides the emotional rollercoaster is everything the Tiger Army and football fans in general love.
He’s no longer Nick’s cousin – he’s very much just Jack in his own right.
For that, we’re going down the sentimental path and backing Jack Riewoldt to kick the first goal in his 300th game on Friday night.
