The Dees won their 14th straight game when they were firstly challenged by Hawthorn, and then beating them by 10 points in round seven.
There has plenty of talk around Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca but it is their captain that is leading the way in season 2022.
He is averaging 114.1 fantasy points which is the six best in the entire league and 21.1 disposals, a great feat considering he is a ruckman.
St Kilda suffered their second loss since round 1 when they went down by the barest of margins against Port in Cairns last weekend.
They did not kick well at goal but they can be somewhat forgiven as the conditions were horrible.
This is their biggest test so far in season 2022 and I’m not convinced they are up to it.
Melbourne have not been putting teams away and they have just one win by 40+ points this season.
I’m tipping they buck that trend this week.
