In its last eight games, the Cats have followed a win-loss pattern and that form stayed true last round when they were overwhelmed by the Dockers to the tune of 34 points in Perth. Freo kicked away in the second half, booting eight goals to three, leaving the Cats just percentage ahead of the Eagles and Lions in the standings.

North’s second half of the season has been better than its first, but they’ve left their finals run too late, two games behind Adelaide with three to play. They enter this match in Geelong as big underdogs, with the Cats winning four of their past five against the Roos.

The teams last played in round eight with Geelong winning by four goals. The Kangas haven’t enjoyed their visits to GMHBA Stadium in recent times, losing four of their past five and covering the line on just one of those occasions.

Away from Marvel Stadium, North have been hit and miss, covering four of eight games away from their fortress. Geelong is 6-1 straight up at the Cattery this season and 4-3 against the spread.

With an away game in Brisbane next week, the Cats will want to lock down four points on Saturday night. The Wolf doesn’t think they’ll have it all their own way though and North are more than capable of pinching the four points and are playing with nothing to lose.
